Hello Once Again - September is Here!

                                   Hello there!
It most definitely has been a while, I believe a whole year in fact! Despite being away for so long the blog is always in the back of my mind and as September is upon us it feels right to come back to an old friend that has been waiting for me to return. This time of year always inspires me to create in many different ways.

It feels like autumn is coming early with the rain, grumpy skies and leaves turning on trees already in my town.
The 'Ber' months are always pretty magical and inspiring for me even if I dislike the cold weather.
It signals that the slow seasons are beginning, a time to enjoy quiet cosy hobbies. Inspiration for story writing seems to kick in. It's time to slowly get cosy and break out the scrapbooking.

I thought I'd kick off the changing of the seasons with my blog and chat about what I've been up to. How have you been?

I'm watching the new series of The Great British Bake Off as I work on the blog, this is a very good was to get you into cosy season, even though the show is filled in the height of summer. I have a small plate with Jamaican ginger cake and a strawberry jam filled cupcake in honour of the first episode theme of cake week. And a tea of course.

As is tradition we set off to Faversham for it's annual Hop Festival, this is the last summer festival of the year for us and it is always a good time. We drink locally made ales, beers and ciders. There are many to choose from and try, way be careful and eat to help soak up the alcohol. We wear hop crowns on our heads and then hang them up in our home like a wreath when we get home. This year the weather was a little up and down with some light rain every now and then, some years it's been so hot we've got a suprise sunburn.

We had chips from the local chip shop, ice cream from the Isle cream vans that were vending on the high street. There were many stalls selling a variety of different things from felted hats to silver rings. This year we had a lovely group of family and friends on this adventure.

This year marks a special year for my partner and I, as it is our 20th year together. To mark the occasion we made the decision to get married but we made that decision in about March and then chose a date for later in the year. I honestly not sure how we organised it but we did and it's only a few weeks away.

I had my Hen party on Sunday which consisted of an afternoon tea, prosecco, a quiz and friendship bracelet making. I left with some beautiful flowers, balloons, some lovely wedding scrapbooking supplies, cards and a beautiful bride to be headband. I had a wonderful time a the best set of women I have had the pleasure to know, be friends with and be family with.

For now I look forward nervously to the next few weeks to my wedding...that still feels weird to say! I look forward to seeing Riverdance in London, something I've always wanted to see. I look forward to weekly Bake off episodes in the evening. I look forward to cosy, creative times as the evenings become darker and cooler.

There are many things to look forward to but also my present as I sit watching Bake off, inspirating youtube videos, watch my cat enjoy the my diy screened in window (since they are indoor cats), tea and cake and planning my creative projects. I'm looking forward to see what I can create.

As it begins to get late and start to wind down, I hope that I'm am encouraged to write another blog over the autumn season. So to close this blog, let yourself be inspired as the season changes. Try yo find a slow seasons, cosy hobby to help you through the darkness and chill.

Have a wonderful week, stay safe and perhaps I will see you on the other side.
