Welcome to the first Musical Monday of August 2017!
Every Year in August I take a musical or musical film and write about how it has intertwined into my life and modern society. This year I am going through Disney Films because most of them musicals.
Our Second musical for Monday 21st Augusts Musical is:

The Disney adaption is full of fuzzy feelings and a happily ever after but the original Hans Christian Anderson story is not quite so fuzzy. It was quite the opposite to be honest.
I have seen a few film adaptions that are not so enchanting like this modernised version of the same story:

The Little Mermaid was released the year after I was born and it is one of the Disney films that I am very familiar with. I love a Disney film and I love musicals so these are a great way to bridge the gap, they are bright and energetic films and the songs bring everything together.

Part of your world is such a beautiful and feeling song that really does pen the phrase 'The grass is always greener on the other side'. We always want what we cannot have and sometimes we do very stupid or dangerous things to achieve our desires.

The good people of YouTube cannot resist performing their very own cover of songs and Disney is always at the top.

Nobody can resist a good sing a long when this song comes on, even the hardened of hearts find themselves humming along to this merry tune.

Ursula is a very fun villain and her song is not only spooky but a little bit sexy.

Of course there are films under the same name and some times a different name that are about mermaids too. They are a different story but just as magical.

The Little Mermaid Musical
I never got to see this musical, it looks so vibrant and full of life just like the film.
