Rosemary and Rue is the first of the 'October Daye series'.

I first heard of the author via her over name (Mira Grant), once I had learnt of her real name what a bounty of books she had written I got to work.

Rosemary and Rue is an incredible start for this series and it leaves it open for something amazing to blossom. The Toby Daye universe is wonderful and has many depths to explore. This is my favourite series of books by Seanan McGuire along with the Newsflesh series (Mira Grant).

A definite read if you want a fun fantasy adventure book to pull you in, yes there are fairies, monsters and magic but it's not the usual soppy sweetness that sometimes can be a little tiresome. A hugely recommended read.
