Happy Wednesday!
New Year, New start for the film cupboard reviews!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pacific Rim: Uprising
Jake Pentecost, son of Stacker Pentecost, reunites with Mako Mori to lead a new generation of Jaeger pilots, including rival Lambert and 15-year-old hacker Amara, against a new Kaiju threat. - IMDB
Giant Robots Punching Kiju!
Pacific Rim grabbed our attention pretty well, there aren't many who can resist the pull of Robots fighting giant monsters. Nobody can pass off Indris Elba for that matter!
Stepping back over to it's sequel, Pacific Rim: Uprising. From a critic point of view there are a few oops moments concerning certain plot points that would anger those who really care about the plot. It's no way near as good as it's predecessor but it still manages to be great fun. It's more of the same but honestly that's what a lot of people wanted in the long run, Giant Robots Punching Kiju.
I give this film 3 out of 5.

Sahara
Master explorer Dirk Pitt goes on the adventure of a lifetime of seeking out a lost Civil War battleship known as the "Ship of Death" in the deserts of West Africa while helping a WHO doctor being hounded by a ruthless dictator. - IMDB
Lost Gold Adventures!
Sahara is your typical Indiana Jones/Romancing The Stone style of adventure film. You've got Penelope Cruz and Matthew McConaughey with Steve Zahn heading up our main adventurers, they honestly do a pretty good job. Sahara is an easy viewing entertaining adventure film that has a wild plot, perfect for a weekend film night.
I give this film 2 and 1/2.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rampage
When three different animals become infected with a dangerous pathogen, a primatologist and a geneticist team up to stop them from destroying Chicago. - IMDB
Tight T-shirts, Giant Monsters and Evil Brunettes!
Dwayne Johnson is at it again in his impressively tight t-shirt ready to save what might need saving. For a video game adaption Rampage is great, it ticks all the nostalgia boxes for those who have fond memories playing the game and it also stands by itself.
Rampage is an adaption of a arcade game from 1986.
I give this film 4 out of 5.
