Paradise: An Apocalyptic Novel By Nicholas Erik (EBook)
When the world ends, what happens to paradise? After their yacht is damaged by a violent storm, a group of vacationers are stranded on an idyllic private island. But real panic only sets in when the group radios the mainland for assistance, receiving a harrowing message. A deadly virus is spreading like wildfire across the world, plunging cities into chaos. Cut off from the outside world, the group must find another way off the island in order to survive.

But strange wildlife and a mysterious band of settlers lurk deep in the island's dense jungles - and neither are fond of outsiders. And the true source of the viral outbreak might be closer than anyone realizes...- Goodreads
I found this story a little weird to start off with, it seems to focus on the pre-dystopia and  then spirals out into madness from there. There are a lot of characters to keep track of and I felt I wasn't given enough time to get to know them properly before they descended to their demise.
The spread of the deadly virus doesn't seem to affect what's going on back on the island paradise and it feels a little pointless until the rest of the plot finally catches up. I enjoyed the read because it was so different from the usual dystopia/post apocalyptic genre, I recommend for a spot of holiday reading and I probably wouldn't read it again.
