It's been just over a year since I popped on last to blog. Recently I've thinking about my poor neglected blog and how a long time ago I used to blog almost every day and as time went to 3 days a week.
As we've hit September and my mind mentally shifts to autumn, the inspiration begins to bubble up once again. With NaNoWrio waving from November, the teasing of autumnal walks and hot chocolate in a cosy blanket I can't help but want to sit and write.
So here I am, sitting in a cosy chair with a blanket, cat and plushie shark for company. Fan on because sed blanket is a little too cosy and the dregs of summer still hanging on aren't fitting the chilly vibes.
To celebrate the end of summer and the start of autumn we visited Faversham for it's Hop Festival that happens each year around the end of August/start of September.
Much beer and cider has drunk over the weekend as we decided one day wasn't enough. The smell of hops, various food stalls and bustling crowds as many bands played throughout the high street.
If you are ever in Kent around this time of year, then a trip to Faversham is recommend. Especially if you go by train as the station is a step away from the high street. I also recommend a trip any time of the year as walking around the high street is is good any time of the year.
As the autumn begins to roll out I will get to work on the huge amount of either half finished or new projects I'm currently working on as I'm not expected to leave the house as much. I can fully embrace my introverted ways, drink tea and enjoy sticking washi tape to various things. Including Blake's building amazement of how I managed to build an ever growing tape collection.
My most recent hobby is jewellery making which I have been enjoying quite a lot. Buying random beads and seeing what I can create with them. Autumn, Halloween, Yule and Christmas is coming so I get to create lots of earrings to wear to work each day of the week.
These are pretty simple but fun all the same. Beads are from The Works.
Moving on from my crafts for a tiny bit. My family has grown bigger this year. I now have 3 nieces as 2 of them were born this year and I look forward to seeing them grow. I also look forward to spoiling them as anu auntie would do. My eldest niece has recently discovered Doctor who in which I'm very happy with as it's one of my favourites, with newest Doctor it's creating a whole new generation of whovians.
To celebrate this I made her clip on earrings and a necklace with the TARDIS as pendants. It's always special when you can represent your fandom through jewellery.
My middle niece was born in the early months of this year and is still a small one but her personality is already shining through and I think she will give her big sister a run for her money once she is able to get going on her own 2 feet.
And finally my youngest niece who was only born mere weeks ago and is my sister's first. I look forward to seeing her personally develop.
Moving over my own little family. My two furry children are still doing well and a little older now. They are quite content with a cushion, blanket and a good box to snooze in and on.
The girls are a constant reminder to enjoy life a little more, take a quiet moment to relax when you can and snuggle with a warm blanket whenever possible.
Selfcare is something I try to keep up with and this definitely counts.
