A Local Habitation is the second book in the October Daye series, Toby's life get's complicated once again as you delve into her next adventure.
In this second book more of Toby's world is being introduced along with new characters and new baddies. You see her grow as a person and learn about her some more, how she confronts people that stand in the way of justice and tries to find a way to keep everyone safe.
I love this series and find I fall in love the characters with each additional book, defiantly a recommended read if you are looking for a grittier fairy tale adventure. You will not find the happy Tinker Bell type characters in the October Daye novels, you will find fae of a different nature that live amongst the human world, work and even fall in love with humans. It's a harder life if you are not a pure blood and you get to understand that being fae isn't always fun.Toby is a changeling private detective, half human, half fae and fully aware she doesn't fit into both world but she still does her part to save kind when they are in need of rescue.
A definite read if you want something different from the fantasy section, you won't be disappointed.
