Musical Mondays - Singing in The Rain

Welcome to Musical Mondays!
In this post I pick a musical to talk about, tell you how it makes me feel and recall stories that grew up around it.
This weeks musical is Singing in The Rain.
Obviously If you haven't seen the film there may be and there may not be spoilers to the film depending on what you count as a spoiler.
**So Possible Spoiler Alert**

In 1927, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are a famous on-screen romantic pair. Lina, however, mistakes the on-screen romance for real love. Don has worked hard to get where he is today, with his former partner Cosmo. When Don and Lina's latest film is transformed into a musical, Don has the perfect voice for the songs. But Lina - well, even with the best efforts of a diction coach, they still decide to dub over her voice. Kathy Selden is brought in, an aspiring actress, and while she is working on the movie, Don falls in love with her. Will Kathy continue to "aspire", or will she get the break she deserves ?

Singing in The Rain is my Mum's favourite musical, so this one always reminds me of her, my Mum is always singing songs from the film.

My Mum used to sing this to be even before I knew where this was from. There has also been parody covers from the show Family Guy created by Seth MacFarlane.

If you haven't seen this episode you are missing out and you should go rectify it immediately.

My partner loves this sound because it makes him smile a lot.

This is the films name sake and the one we all know. There has been a few covers and remixes of this song, along with various stage version.
I always get the urge to do this when it's raining in London while at work, I'm not sure the people around me would be impressed.

This one samples the actual film version of the song and the video references the dance moves.

This is from the hit tv series GLEE, they mix singing in the rain up into modern day Rihannah's Umbrella.

And of course Robbie being awesome and lovely as usual!
