Cloud Zombie's Film Cupboard - Wild, Wild Child, After Earth

Welcome to my next issue of my film review section.
With the dissolution of her marriage and the death of her mother, Cheryl Strayed has lost all hope. After years of reckless, destructive behaviour, she makes a rash decision. With absolutely no experience, driven only by sheer determination, Cheryl hikes more than a thousand miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, alone. Wild powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddens, strengthen, and ultimately heals her. - IMDB

This film is a beautiful adventure of the heart and soul. Wild had me sniffing on more than one occasion because this film hits you right in the feels, this film makes you feel so many different emotions and I enjoyed them thoroughly.
I recommend you watch this film, you will come away wanting to watch it again. This is not a typical chick flick.

I give this film 10/10

Wild Child
Since Malibu brat Poppy Moore's mom passed away, she has pushed her rich, usually absent dad Gerry shamelessly. When his patience wears out, she's shipped off to her mother's former English boarding school for girls, Abbey Mount. On her first day she makes enemies of most dorm mates, especially dominant lacrosse school captain Harriet, and of staff disciplinarian Mrs. Kingsley. Unwilling to accept the strict regime, she decides to misbehave and take the blame for everyone until she's dismissed. The school only appealing feature for her is Kingsley's dashing son Freddie. When the dream prince transfers his favour from ambitious, uptight Harriet to unruly Poppy, that changes everything. - IMDB

Wild child is a great teen movie about growing up, making friends and causing a lot of trouble along the way. It's a great fun girly film with a heart warming story with a little attitude thrown in.
There are actually some great lessons within the story and you will come away knowing right from wrong.

I give this film 9/10

After Earth
One thousand years after cataclysmic events forced humanity's escape from Earth, Nova Prime has become mankind's new home. Legendary General Cypher Raige returns from an extended tour of duty to his estranged family, ready to be a father to his 13-year-old son, Kitai. When an asteroid storm damages Cypher and Kitai's craft, they crash-land on a now unfamiliar and dangerous Earth. As his father lies dying in the cockpit, Kitai must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. His whole life, Kitai has wanted nothing more than to be a soldier like his father. Today, he gets his chance.- IMDB

I herd this didn't get amazing reviews but I give you this advise, go in thinking it's a Will Smith film and you'll be fine.
After Earth is like Outlander, Oblivion and some sort of Halo movie have smashed into each other at a thousand miles an hour.

Jaden Smith did quite well for a child star that is living in the shadow of his famous actor father, I think we can see great things from him once he finds his feet.
To be honest I liked it because it was scifi and post apocalyptic.

I give this film 8/10
